Why New Vape Laws Will Not Mean A Lack Of Flavours
It is not hard to find people saying negative things about vaping, but usually, the most misleading or hysterical statements about it come from opponents, rather than those in the vape industry itself.
However, that cannot be said of a statement by vape firm VPZ. It claimed that the new vaping laws that will come into effect this summer, banning single-use vapes and abolishing certain flavours deemed to appeal to underage users, would lead to a situation where the loss of some very popular tastes undermine efforts to stamp out smoking.
It is claimed that many adult vapers who can no longer enjoy their favourite flavours will react by giving up vaping and regress to lighting up. It predicted as many as three million people who had made the transition from smoking to vaping could revert as a consequence.
Others trying to stop smoking may cease trying to do so because they cannot find nice enough vape flavours, it added.
VPZ director Greig Fowler commented: “Flavours are key to helping smokers quit and this bill will unfairly penalise adult vapers and smokers looking to quit.”
Spot The Good News About Vaping
Of course, there is a good news story hidden in the middle of all this that some won’t acknowledge (although the NHS does): that switching from smoking to vaping reduces harm and therefore lowers the risk of negative health outcomes. Conversely, if lots of people were to stop vaping and start smoking again, that would be bad news.
For that reason, we would be right to be concerned if it were indeed the case that the end of single-use vapes and certain flavours would lead to loads of people switching back to smoking and others not giving up. But is this a reasonable argument?
One way to approach the question might be simply to declare that it all sounds a bit unlikely and, at the very least, nobody knows what will happen until the legislation takes effect and the range of products on offer changes.
Give Elux A Try
However, we would suggest a better way to approach the claim would be to look at the great array of flavours that do exist and suggest that anyone worried about their favourite flavours disappearing off the shelves at the end of May should look at products like Elux flavours.
These flavours come in a wide range that will provide something for just about everyone. These include Mr Blue, lemon and lime, banana ice, cherry ice, blue sour raspberry and more. They are tobacco-free and give a firm nicotine hit.
Because they can come in pouches, pod kits and nic salts rather than embedded in single-use vapes, these will still be available after the ban on single-use vaping comes into force. This means that far from disappearing, they will continue to offer a wide range of great tastes for everyone.
The key with these pouches is they enable you to mix and match different vapes, producing new flavour combinations, novel things to try and the opportunity to enjoy both tastes and nicotine hits of varying strength. As such, there will be various ways you can discover new flavours and enjoy a different taste.
Be Ready To Try New Vape Flavours
If you currently rely on single-use vapes and certain flavours and are wondering what to do when they are no longer available, we suspect your first thought is not going to be: “I’ll start smoking again if I can’t enjoy the flavours I’m familiar with.”
After all, if your favourite beer disappeared from the pub, it doesn’t follow that you would switch to wine or cider. Instead, the most likely thing you would do would be to try other beers until you found one that was either similar to the one that’s no longer available, or tastes different but you like it anyway.
You may find that is exactly true when it comes to the flavours that are out there, not least the Elux range, as it may be you have yet to try some of them, or indeed any of them, and could be pleasantly surprised by what you find.
Vapes are for adults and nobody should have a problem with steps being taken to stop underage use of them. But that means those who use them as alternatives to smoking are not kids and will have more mature tastes.
Instead, the changing legal situation should be seen as an opportunity for vapers who may only know a few flavours to check out the Elix range and others, taking the opportunity to be adventurous, try some new things and, sooner or later, find something you really enjoy.
