What Are The Best Alternatives To Replace Disposable Vapes?

From the start of June onwards, there has been a ban on the sale (but not the use) of disposable vapes, which has left quite a few people looking for the ideal alternative vape kit to help them stop smoking.

This ban, part of the Tobacco and Vapes Bill that is currently going through the House of Lords but is expected to be passed largely intact, would mean that every vape bought from 1st June onwards must be refillable and rechargeable.

Because of this, many people who rely on disposable vapes have been taking advantage of clearance sales to create a stockpile ahead of the ban, which will give them some time to consider switching to a refillable option.

With that in mind, here are some other reasons why you should make that switch sooner rather than later, and which types of vape products would be right for you.

Prefilled Pod Vapes

One of the concerns people have voiced is that the reason why they opt for a disposable vape is for the guarantee that it will be filled, charged and ready to go as soon as they need it.

The closest possible option available once the ban kicks in is a prefilled pod vape, which combines the ease of use of a disposable vape, with the ability to easily refill it with no mess and no awkwardness.

A lot of the biggest disposable brands such as Elf Bar and Lost Mary have already made the transition to prefilled pods, and because of this, it should be easy to find a one-to-one replacement for the flavours you enjoy most, whilst having the flexibility to try something new once it is done.

Whilst nicotine salts are available for all types of vapes, giving the same smooth feeling on the throat that fans of disposable products enjoy, they are most commonly and easily found with prefilled pods, and they have the same inhale activation as well.

If you love the disposable vape experience more than anything else and, like Baroness Fox, are particularly concerned about the ban and the effects it may have on convenient vaping, prefilled pod vapes are going to be the first tentative transition whilst you look for exactly what you want from vaping.

This might be another prefilled pod, or it could be something which gives you greater versatility and freedom of choice when it comes to flavours.

Pod Mods

Similar but not quite the same as prefilled pods, pod mods are the ultimate compromise between convenience and customisation, and before disposable vapes became ubiquitous, pod mods were the most popular way to vape.

It is likely this will become the case again following the ban, as they allow for both refillable and prefilled pods to be sold, allowing for the widest range of flavours possible with the most convenience, most compact form factor and least mess.

Typically, the e-liquid tank, mouthpiece and coil are contained in a single unit, which means that they are easy to replace and minimise waste, as only a small part of the unit has to be disposed of. The main body and the battery can be retained for a long time.

All of this makes pod mod vapes the ideal landing point for people making the transition from disposable to refillable vapes.

Box Mods

The most established, most versatile and most cost-effective as a long-term investment, box mods are a customisable, configurable multi-part vape designed to give you the best possible vaping experience.

If vapes were computers, if a pod mod is a laptop (and a prefilled pod is a tablet computer), a box mod is a custom-built desktop computer; it is bulkier, because it has the largest possible battery and is compatible with a wide range of different components.

More importantly for vapers, the widest possible selection of flavours, both in conventional e-liquid and nicotine salt forms, are available for box mods, and as they are cheaper than prefilled pods, they similarly offer the best value for money.

Whilst it can take some time to get accustomed to refilling the tank yourself, you can get more puffs before you need to refill compared to a pod mod, which typically sacrifices tank size in favour of more compact shapes.

There is a lot of sophistication and versatility to a box mod, with a wide range of options for maintaining the optimal conditions for vaping and allowing a user to set the amount of liquid they use per puff.

Box mods will ultimately be the main choice for people who are experienced with vapes, know what they like and what helps them the most.
